The drop out rate for high school students is currently too high. In America, over a million of the students who enter ninth grade each fall fail to graduate with their peers four years later (Alliance for Excellent Education). Despite being strongly encouraged to stay in school, a large percent of students continue to withdraw. In the ever changing, progressive society that we live in, a solid education is vital to finding gainful, lasting employment.
What are your thoughts on this topic? Is a high school diploma important and why? Do you believe people can still be successful if they drop out of high school? Feel free to incorporate current topics such as the rapidly growing world of technology, the poor economy, etc.

ReplyDeletei think a high school education is good to have but those who drop out are not going to for sure fail in life. there have been alot of people who are rich and have everything they want even though tehy dropped out. i do not agree with drop outs i think you should fiinish what you start no matter how hard it is.

I think education is important because you will get a good job and be successful in life.But if you drop out you might still be able to be successful if you push your self.But also you have to want it to get it. Its better to finish school then to drop out though but that up to you.- Tara Roberts
ReplyDeleteI think staying in school is verry impportant. If you have hischool deploma you can get a job that is better paying than a job without. You also you need one to get intoo colledge. Another reason is that if you get fired it will be easier to find a job and you will have a better back up plan.
ReplyDeleteI think you can still be successful if you dropped out.But at the same time everyone needs to graduate high school.The chances are that you will probably be more successful if you did graduate.A job will be easier to get the farther you go.High school offers alot of elective/extra curricular activities like for example buisness and finance. everyone needs an education no matter what.

In High School they give you a good elective clases so you cane do what you want to. And the risen people drop out from high school because they think its harde but when you are on your oven its even harder.
ReplyDeleteI think that poeple should get a high school diploma. I think they should raise the drop out age to 18 years old. You would not do better in life. All a person could do is manual labor. A high school diploma is key to getting into college and the military. People would never survive without a diploma. -Cory Findlay
